The start of the bushfire season has devastated our country and pushed our resources, volunteers, communities and emergency services to the limit.
Many hospitals and healthcare practices have been relocated and Australian Medical Assistance Team (AUSMAT) specialists have been deployed domestically to help people in affected communities.
The AAPM are standing by Australian healthcare practices and have established a HELPLINE to provide vital administrative support and advice to practices who have been affected by the fires. The hotline allows practice managers to call and speak with an experienced practice manager who will assist practices in co-ordinating and navigating resources to initially rebuild and re-establish healthcare services and with keeping their businesses running.
If your practice has been impacted by the recent national bushfire crisis and requires AAPM’s support and assistance, please call the HELPLINE on 0484 597 191. This service will be operational between 8:30am and 5:00pm (AEDTG) Monday to Friday.
During high call volumes, if you cannot get through to an operator immediately, please leave your details for a return call, or alternatively you can email the HELPLINE at nationaloffice@aapm.org.au.
AAPM are also seeking expressions of interest from experienced members who would be willing to volunteer to act as advisors to their helpline coordinator.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the AAPM National Office on 1800 196 000.
